Updates on the KIZ Program

The  PA Department of Community and Economic Development (Tax Credit Division) provided the following updates on the KIZ Program.

1.     Beginning this year, the KIZ Tax Credit application deadline will be moved from September 15th to December 1st. All 2021 KIZ Tax Credit applications are due no later than Wednesday, December 1st.

2.     KIZ Tax Credit awards will be made by May 1st of the subsequent calendar year. The award date will no longer be December 15th.

3.     The KIZ Annual Report will be published on October 1st of the subsequent calendar year instead of January 1st.

4.     Various tax credit administration changes will be addressed in the FY21-22 KIZ Guidelines. (To be posted on the DCED website)

If all goes according to schedule,  KIZ Tax Credit application  will be open on Wednesday, September 15th and  will remain open until the deadline of December 1st. This will allow applicants approximately 10 weeks to submit their application which is 4 weeks longer then the last application window.

 Also, ESU CFRED will be issuing the PMKIZ Certificates to all KIZ eligible companies prior to September 15, 2021.
